Mayor Announces Expanded “Green and Clean” Recognition Program
The Mayor's office announced today plans to broaden its “Green and Clean” recognition program to include two honorees monthly. Developed to highlight companies that distinguish themselves through their landscaping and property maintenance, this expanded program will also consider the organization's investments in its employees. Any business location of any type operating in the City of Corpus Christi is eligible for the award.
In commenting on the program, Mayor Nelda Martinez said, “I am committed to recognizing those businesses whose conduct improves the quality of life here in Corpus Christi. These firms can serve to inspire others as we build on our strengths going forward.”
The Mayor's Advisory Committee on Community Pride will administer the enlarged program and is soliciting nominations for consideration from business employees, customers and other interested parties. One award will be made each month among those nominated while a second award will be made based on the Committee's own investigations. Nominations may be made by messaging the information through the Corpus Christi Pride Facebook page or by calling Angela Gonzalez, committee coordinator, at (361) 826-3673. Those honored will receive a specially designed sign in an awards ceremony attended by the mayor or other city official and will also be recognized in the Corpus Christi Caller-Times.
The first awards under this expanded program are planned for May 2013.
